TEACHING METHOD

 

As I observed in Kinderstation Junior High School that they incorporate different methods where student diversity is addressed inside the classroom such as their characteristics and learning styles. We do not take students as one that one size fits all. As a teacher , you nee to be flexible that makes a varied ways to transfer learning. There are 3 sections; M1 with 8 students, M2 with 11 students and M3 with 15 students which is a good number of students that is manageable to teach. Teachers used a varied learning strategies to ensure the effectiveness of learning. Since technology is too mainstream nowadays and we cannot go away with it to integrate technology in our classroom as a tool to bring an effective way to attract the students and deliver a class.

LEARNING MATERIALS AND INNOVATION

The learning materials used in the classroom are textbooks, notebooks, Video, Illustrations, graphics, computers, Personal Laptops. Where Teachers use this materials during their class and students are using it very well.

AUTHENTIC ASSESSMENT

 

 

                In my 1st week of my observation and teaching mode, I can see the use of authentic assessment inside the classroom. They use drawings, reflection posted in feelings board, posters and exhibits of what they learned throughout the unit.

                Students also experience the learning beyond four walls. Engaged outside the school as they learned what is the real situation relating to their specific unit given by the IMYC. In this evidence of learning, they utilize a variety of performance-based and a real-world task for a greater understanding and responding very well to an abstract and conceptual idea.

                 Kinderstation Junior High School went to AMIKOM University- a University suitable for those people who are passionate in films especially in animation. Prior to the field trip, students are given a set of questions relating to the Big Idea in their unit to interview some people in AMIKOM to answer their homework. KJH Students and Faculty explored issue of data protection, computer misuse, health and safety. I, myself learned also how to do animation films and how long does it take. It is a great opportunity for me that I'm able to be a part of this field trip because they are able to answer my questions. I can say that field trip is basically more like opportunity given to the students to learn from different circumstances and gaining knowledge directly from those who are capable in it.
